Day 2: Transfusion
Owen's treatment advances with blood transfusion; surgeries set for tomorrow.

A significant part of Owen's treatment journey took a step forward this morning when he was given a blood transfusion. This necessary procedure was to elevate his hemoglobin levels and has led to the scheduling of his surgeries for tomorrow morning. After a tough night filled with body pain and exhaustion, Owen is finally resting, a small comfort in the midst of our storm.
The surgeries planned for tomorrow are critical and come with their own complexities. They include a bone marrow extraction, spinal fluid extraction, and the installation of a port. This port is a crucial device that will be placed under the skin on his chest, enabling the chemotherapy treatments to be administered directly into his bloodstream. With Owen's current condition of anemia, these surgeries do not come without their risks.

It's incredibly hard to see him go through this; the feeling of helplessness is overwhelming. Yet, amidst the fear and uncertainty, Owen's bravery shines through, offering us a beacon of hope. We are just at the beginning of this arduous journey, but we’re facing it head-on, as a family, fortified by the love and support surrounding us.
As we prepare for tomorrow, prayers and positive thoughts for Owen would be greatly appreciated. They are a source of strength for us all, helping to light our way through the darker moments. Tomorrow, we step into a critical phase of Owen's treatment with hope and determination, leaning on the expertise of his medical team and the unwavering support of our family and friends.
